Remote Start Options

Hello all,

I just picked up my 2015 FIT EX today. I asked the dealer about Honda's remote start option and was told it was for automatics only (I went with the 6 speed). Anyways, I had an aftermarket remote starter installed on my last car and it was the best money I have ever spent. The winters in Western PA are long and brutal and having a remote start is in my opinion a necessity. So with that introduction, I have a few questions.

1) Do they make aftermarket remote starters for manual FIT EXs?
2) Which one is the best and why?
3) Will installing an aftermarket remote starter void my warranty in any
way?
Thanks again.

Best,
Brett

I'll let others answer #1 and #2, but #3 I can say that it will not void any warranties by installing it. If damage occurs to the vehicle as a result of the remote start installation, then at that point any warranty claim for that damage will be denied.

Hope this helps.

Your answer is very confusing. You say installing a remote starter will not void the warranty. Then you also say that any warranty claims will be denied....this sounds mutually exclusive.

Care to clarify?

I believe what is being said is this: if something fails on the car that is not directly related to the install of the remote starter then it will be covered under the warranty. If Honda can somehow find a way to tie the problem to the aftermarket remote starter you put in, the claim will be denied.

So basically I would be left proving a negative regarding anything electrical? That seems like a big gamble

1) There are remote start units out there that will work on manual cars.
2) I would recommend a Compustar RSG6 due to its lifetime warranty and different remote options
3) It will not void your warranty, however if there is an issue with your cars electrical system down the line, the dealership can deny work because of the remote start. At that point make sure wherever you have the remote start installed offers a lifetime warranty from their end so they can take over any service that would need to be done.
