Problems with my 2015 fit LX 6 speed :(
Hey guys,my name is Chris, this is my first post, I love the forum as it tells me a lot about questions I've asked myself about mods and such. Well I'm writing today because I have a problem, I've had my 2015 fit LX 6mt for about 3 weeks now and everything has been great.
Now starting the car this morning, I was greeted by the TPMS light flashing, the traction control off light and after a minute or two the power steering warning light AND check system charging light flashing..... Now this is my first brand NEW car and it's just throwing me off. After warm up the problem was corrected at a red light by restarting the vehicle. Now no lights and no problems.. So it seems to be a cold issue. But just looking for a smidge of input before I drive up to the stealership, thanks!!

Mice chewing on the wiring? Car companies are increasingly going "green" by turning to soy based plastics for wiring insulation, upholstery and other components. Rodents find this stuff "tasty and nutritious".

could be a bad connector or mice as Uncle Gary suggested. The only time I had this error flashing was when I removed one of the relays to see what its function was. Turns out it was one of the main relays. Disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes then reconnecting, restarting fixed this for me. Cleared the code.
Thanks for the input guys, I double checked all wires and dielectric greased everything that deemed proper. I also pulled an Enhanced Honda code from it today with my scan tool, a P16E2.... I cannot find a FitFreaking thing on it lol. Only even remote hit was on a battery sensor on a 2010 Acura MDX. But as of restarting it this morning after warm up, the problem no longer exists. So if it happens again, I guess I'll be heading up there :/
Check the battery. Even new ones could be defective.
If, as suggested, there is no obvious signs of wire damage by rodents or other visible damages, still take it to the dealership to get checked. Also to document the issue early on.
There is no way this is a "normal fluke".

Yes I totally agree with this not being normal, and thanks for the input
I did forget to mention I did do a battery test as well yesterday and she's reading high on the ccas compared to what it should be and no less then 12.7-8 volts at rest and 14.1-8 running depending on loads. So the battery and connections are good and tight, but no issue this morning so we will see how the rest of the week goes, hopefully the underhood greasing and blow job took care of it
thanks again everyone for the replys

You just thought after reading all the random issues most have that there was no way you would right??? haha... I love these threads.
I'm thinking he meant that after reading the different threads on this forum, and hearing about the problems some Fit owners have been dealing with... You thought you wouldn't have any of the same problems.
I'm not saying that! That's just what I think he meant. If I'm wrong in my interpretation I do apologize.

No, he probably meant that since there are so many different issues people are having, he thought there was no way, (you, whoever that is) would not be able to correct them (to "right" them).

thanks for trying to clarify what he said lol and just to toot my own horn, but the problem has yet to emerge since I did what I did, now in hindsight, the issue may of been my mistake to begin with because I washed it...? Lol, I never washed under the hood but I guess a sprinkle got under there? Nevertheless, it has yet to come back
I have only ever done it for competition purposes. On a regular basis i totally agree with you, the risk reward just isn't there. I usually do a very very light cleaning after winter because salt spray tends to eat away at stuff.
always bag yer battery and fuse box when washing under the hood.
check this guy out: car cleaning under hood
glad yer problem went away.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with cleaning your engine. if you're smart about it and dont blast the electronics that is. Your engine sees the elements almost as much as the exterior. Not sure what chemicals you are referring to but he is using APC (aka all purpose cleaner) in the video. It's less harmful than dish soap and mostly diluted with water. All the products are meant for cars and engines. Don't be spraying things like brake clean in there or anything like that.
Just chiming in here that this P16e2 code and dash lights is in fact a random issue (seemingly not correlated to things like wiring shorts, washing engine bay, etc.)
I'm going through steps right now to see what the root cause is, but I'm hesitant to think that a $70.00 battery sensor will fix the problem.

I've had many brands of cars but always one common denominator - the battery ground and the engine grounds all need to be in great working order free from resistance build up. If this issue crops up again, you may want to locate all of the grounds (earthing points) around the engine, clean, dielectric grease coat, and torque them to spec.
