Front end alignments

How often should I have the front end aligned?? I'm used to the tire guy letting me know it's needed and doing it then, but I don't know if it's something that should be done regularly or not. I don't remember seeing anything about it in the manual. What do you guys do???

I don't mess with it unless the wheel is pulling, I have some sort of accident, or the tires are wearing strangely.

I think the general practice is to have it checked after you get new tires.

IMO it's not like an oil change you have to do every X miles. If you want to do it that way go get a "lifetime alignment" at Firestone or something like that.

The only times I ever had a front end alignment on any of my vehicles is after an accident involving the front-end of my Odyssey or after I had my steering rack replaced on my old Toyota.

Unless I have reason to believe the alignment is off (as mentioned above, unusual tire wear, pull to one side, possible damage from an accident or pothole), I usually just have the alignment checked when I buy a new set of tires.
