Help--Cross threaded screw

Hi, seems (even tho i backed it out to make sure) ive managed to cross thread one of the screws holding in my brake light housing while trying a new bulb out. What, if anything, can I do?

I got it back in so its secure. But I don't like knowing its like that.

I would first persistently try to get the screw to go in correctly, if that doesn't work you may have to re-tap the thread.

Or add some loc-tite to the thread to hold it in more secure.
