Hello from sunny Singapore!

Hi FFers,

I'm from Singapore and will be collecting my new ride next week. Mine is a 1.5 CVT RS from authorized dealer. They renamed it Jazz instead of Fit. Other than that, everything is identical as the Fit.

Currently I'm driving the Stream RSZ 1.8AT. It is a good car and we are unwilling to part with it actually.

I hope to be able to learn from you guys on this ride. Hopefully there isn't much difference between US and SG version.

Congratulations! If it's not too rude, what does a Fit/Jazz cost in Singapore? I know the car prices are insanely high.

Thanks!

And yes it's insane here. You guys will never believed it. SGD120,999 for a 1.5l engine car! I traded in my old ride for $45,000. Crazy enough?

That's $90,000 US. That is insane.

Well, considering how many cars there are there on the road, that's too low But damn, does the quality of the car show over there on your island, I'm very interested to see yours!
Also new around here

Exactly. What kind of car can this price fetch in the U.S.?

If subcompacts cost $90k in the US, it would start looking like Amsterdam here (i.e. cyclists everywhere). That's a steep price to pay for transportation. I can't even imagine paying that kind of money for a Fit.

And yes, Virgo, we are very lucky here, in more ways than one.

I understand the insane price here but sometimes we commoners have no choice as some may have babies and old folks to carry them around. It may be too troublesome to try flagging a cab during rainy days for example. Having a simple car will provide this convenience and flexibility.

I will be collecting my new ride this Sat, a USD90k Jazz!
