Gravity was involved
Coming home from a 3000 mile trip we left Mountainair, NM on Highway 60 and
did the 40 miles to I-25 the mileage was 68.8 mpg. It was kind of down hill and at
one point the fuel thingy said 80 mpg. I loled.
Long trip with 3 people and STUFF. Left NM on Monday the 8th and got home
Monday the 15th. FIT did the job!

Average for 3000 miles was just under 43 mpg. Three people and stuff. 65 to 70 mph
most of the time. Wind, head wind will kill your mileage.
The tach ran up to 5000 rpm on some of the hills, small engine likes those 7 gears.

As much fun as it is to watch your mpg jump on the downhills, it's painful watching it plummet on the inclines. You've got to be pretty happy with 43mpg considering all the extra weight and the hills, nice going.
