License Plate Screws

Hey all,

I just got a new Fit EX (yay) for my Fiancee, and I'm wondering if anyone knows what screws are required for the front/rear license plates? I don't believe we have any, and my fiancee currently has the car so I can't check. I need to put plates on tonight.

If you can't find the screws, get some from your dealer. If the car doesn't have a plate of any sort on it at present, the mounting hardware may be in a baggie or something somewhere. (I'd also check to make sure all the other pre-delivery stuff has been done, like any body plugs installed that should be and so forth. The dealer should do all that stuff before turning the car over to you; it's part of their job.)

You were correct, they were there!

For the sake of the thread, when I get a chance, I will post the actual measurements of the screws just in case someone ends up here.

Plate screws are actually issued by our Land Transportation Office.. Failure to use them will give you a ticket/fine of $100.00...the worst place on earth to own and register a car ( philippines)!

My Fit came with only two bolts holding the back plate to the car. I got tired of the rattle of the plate against the hatch when I closed it, so I added two more bolts. I got them at Home Depot. #10 x 5/8" pan head screws seemed to Fit right.

Be careful with the plate screws. The plastic piece they screw into is super soft - I managed to add a new hole when I attached my metal plate.
