Hitch on rear

If anyone is interested, I installed a hitch on my fit this morning. Gravy job to do so, just pry loose the rubber muffler mounts for access and mount right up. Takes 3 bolts and 1 ubolt. Took about 30 minutes.

I installed the hitch because we pull our Fit on a dolly behind the motorhome and sometimes there isn't room for the dolly at the site and you have to park it elsewhere, a lot easier to pull it with the Fit to park it than with the motorhome.

I do not have the car with me today but will get some pics for you. Works great with my bike rack also.

I would love to see it once installed, and even some install pic's if you took any.

We were debating putting a hitch on so we could add a bike rack, or one of those flat cargo carriers for a cooler or other stroller when on a trip.

On the Drawtite there was no drilling required. If you are referring to the link I posted, I went and looked and did not see that. A note though, on the side the muffler is on you have to bend the piece the rubber mount goes on or the bolt will lightly contact the muffler on the top and you would be surprised how much noise that can generate! Just a quick bend and it is all taken care of.

I have the curt hitch, which is nearly the same design. I'm also lowered. My front bumper scrapes going up and down hills way before the hitch ever would

Ground Clearance

Thanks for answering this question and my follow up would then be; can a 2019 Fit w/4.4 inches of clearance get over potholes, sandy dirt roads, unpaved trails? I had a 2005 Corolla that went over EVERYTHING. But it's only 1 inch difference between the two clearances. Thanks!

there are certainly plenty of people who take their car into situations like this. I dont think the hitch itself will cause any additional problems to ground clearance. there are definitely other parts that hang lower than it. so, ultimately, it depends on how deep the pothole is
