Road Report: The Love Deepens.

We just returned from a round trip driving from the Tampa area to the Madison WI area. I loved the car before...now I really love it.

The car did not put a foot wrong. It was perfect for 12 hour days on the interstate. The seats are perfect for us; no pain or problems. We were also able to get the car out on wonderful WI back roads. It's the first car I've driven with paddle shifters that actually work well. Sport mode and paddles were super fun.

It could be a little more powerful and a little less noisy but, honestly, I can't see why anyone needs more car unless they carry 5 or more people.

I averaged just around 40 mpg. And RainX is amazing.

Nice photo. Red was a solid contender for color choice, but in the end I went with white.

Still love driving mine, but the few quality issues that the dealer can't resolve are beginning to be a sore spot with me.

Did you have a Spotted Cow or tour the brewery while in New Glarus? Awesome place.

Been there many times, even before the new building. Had Totally Naked this go around. Our friends live in New Glarus. Love it there.

Hopefully you got some cheese curds along the way. And you also drank some gravy.

And some cannibal sandwiches (raw steak, very lean, ground up with spices and raw onion spread on baby rye bread; some call it steak tartare), though that might be more of a thing around Milwaukee/Racine.

That's one I never heard of so I think it must be not from where we were. Oddly our host also had guests from Hong Kong one of whom was Thai and we had the best Thai food I've ever had.

I keep meaning to add that the whole time I saw only two other 2015 Fits; both Modern Steel EX or EX-L, one on the highway and one driving through New Glarus (was that you, GoBucky?). Of course I was driving so wasn't looking for them all the time but it seems to me there are still very few of these around. I saw my first and only yellow one yesterday.

I see occasional 2015 GK's around my area. Neighbor up the street has a Grey one. My neighbor around the corner has two 2011 crystal black pearl Fits.

Whats funny is that when people who are familiar with the Fit see my car, they think its an EX-L because of the winkers and black front seat covers. Then they see its an EX with a crap ton of mods, and I get the nod of approval then.

Nope, wasn't me. I haven't been near New Glarus for awhile. Although I should start planning another visit, it's a nice area.

I see a lot of GK's in my area, but not as much as the current Accord Sedan. that accord is like the civic of yesterday. I see it everywhere!

That is because he washes and waxes it before he takes any pictures.....I'm tempted to drive our Fit down to Florida, just so it can receive the "exl500 touch".

Should retirement fail, he has a future in car detailing.

Vanguard, thank you or the kind words. In fact I had just given the car its first wax before leaving for Wisconsin. As for washing, however, I was there a few hours before finding the closest touchless wash!

GoBucky, yes, it went to 100 right after we left and then yesterday I saw photos of friends at a concert in Madison in sweatshirts. Meanwhile it also hailed and banged the crap out of a bunch of cars, including poster kenchan's 2 day old Fit. I would have died!

I map our area of the world by the location of "touchless" car washes. My favorite has just been renovated, and now has a cycle that pours multi-color hot wax over your car. It is best to do this at night because they light the wax with Florissant light, and it is very psychedelic.

This was my first. I wash my car by hand in the wash space that's a few spaces down in my condo. Given how inexpensive the touchless wash was I'm rethinking that.

We started using the "touch less" more often than not, because our water at our house is considered very hard, and each drop you leave on the car spots, unlike the carwash that not only does not have the hard water problem, but has those blowers that help get rid of the water quickly. Plus it is much faster, so I have more time for our garden, which I enjoy much more than washing cars.
