Loud Clicking and thunking Noise under car
Loud Clicking and thunking Noise under car
Just bought a new 2016 Fit LX. I drove 130 miles to go get it, so here's how the story starts.
Bought the car and was on my way home. There was a lot of back road 55MPH driving and some thunderstorms. Anyways, after about 70 miles away from the dealership I got to a freeway. I was doing 75-80 MPH in ECON mode and then a very distinct, constant and loud knock from underneath started to occur. Freaked me out so I pulled over and tapped around on the big plastic piece underneath the car. Did not find anything loose. Since I had no check engine lights or any other indication I pushed on. Stayed at the speed limit of 70 and there is no noise. As soon as I crack 75MPH it starts to make the same sound.
Scheduled a visit to a dealership near me for tomorrow. But curious if anyone else had this issue and being curious George that I am I would really like to know what it is. Only logical thing I can think of is the high windspeed hitting that plastic shield and making it clank? Like I said I cant get the car to replicate the noise unless I get past 75MPH.
Also I noticed there is a little side to side wiggle room on my ebrake (side to side). Is that normal? Where the ebrake handle is, is where the car makes the sound.
