6mt ex shifting....

Hey all. My 6mt ex with 1900 miles , to me, shifts strange. I couldn't tell you how it did it in the beginning as I don't seem to remember, however I have noticed an almost "click" into and out of gears, doesn't matter which one. Every now and then it will slide into a gear completely smooth, but other times I can hear and feel a "click" when in or out. I have noticed at a stop if I "click" into a gear and back out once I return it's smooth, if it's the same gear. I hope this explanation makes sense and kind of hope yours does it too!!

how is the weather in your area? if cooler, then tranny will feel notchy until the MT fluid is completely warm. if this is what you are noticing then it is considered normal.

It's the same here, when i shift pressing 60% of the clutch it would make a click sound. But if i shift with the clutch all the way down and slowly it goes in smooth. I was planning to change the clutch fuild to amsoil to see if it fix this. (Fix it on my civic si)

yah, definitely push the clutch in all the way. i know you shouldnt have to for every shift, but the syncro's may not have the capacity to do the work unless you do, so..

but good idea on changing the fluid. that could very well cure the issue.
i know my GE often times grinds into 3rd gear while cold on a colder day. my nissans do no do this... even at -5F

Its strange IMO, I first thought it may be due to the boot plastic ring as I tried a different knob and went back to stock but it seems as if it comes from the shaft itself, let us know your results after changing fluid
