Squeaking noises when changing gears

Hi, has anyone else noticed squeaking noises coming from the front when the car is changing gears (e.g. Drive -> Reverse, etc.)? Noise has been present on and off since buying the car. Otherwise I have no other ongoing issues .

Had the chance to ride in a friend's 3rd gen FIT which was quiet when changing gears. My old FIT didn't make noise either.

Is this a relatively common finding among the new FITs, or should I worry about the noise? Thanks!

I'm guessing this is the CVT? If so do a search here, every one is aware that that noise comes from the little squirrels running on the belts in the transmission. Sometimes they get pissed when they have to change direction...

All kidding aside, take it in and ask the dealer. That's why you have a warranty.

Haha, it's a CVT . I wanted to get a sense of how common this issue is to avoid a potential trip to the dealership..

Yeah I am waiting until my first oil change to take it in to address the issue with the front bumper and saggy rear fender liners that I have. Good luck with finding out what your issue is. I have the MT so I can't help you sorry.

I have the CVT with over 11k miles and no squeaking when changing from D to R or vice versa. Hope you get it sorted and please update us.

Good luck with the warranty work Wallygator. I'm taking mine in again for the front bumper sag tomorrow. I have the day off and I get to waste it at the dealership again. The salesman called me and said he'd be there to see if he can facilitate some solution, but we'll see if anything comes of it.

And good luck to you Rismo. I hope you can get this solved so it's not a total waste of the day off. From other posts I have read it seems Honda is aware of the situation so hopefully something good will happen.

Thanks again. I'm updating a thread on my experience at the dealership. Crossing my fingers...
