Thumbs down CarPlay on MY2015+

I'm so incredibly sick of the HondaLink and its iOS "integration". Is there any way to get CarPlay to work? I'm talking any way at all. How about just a third-party head unit that has it?

I don't think so. Have you tried holding the steering wheel microphone button to access Siri? She can play music, text, make calls, read notifications, set reminders, among other things.

Pioneer and Alpine both offer CarPlay-compatible head units. I have no idea if you can use the aftermarket HU to control other OEM HU functions (like the Info screen that monitors fuel economy). My guess would be that you loose all that.

There's also the HDMI setting hack that enables display of your iOS device on the OEM HU display while the car is moving. You'd be using the normal iOS interface, though. I have yet to try this, but it holds more promise than hoping Honda will offer a flash update to enable CarPlay at some point.

Note that there is also a hack out there that enables CarPlay on an iOS device (when not connected to a CarPlay-compatible vehicle or HU), but said device must be rooted first.
