Vertical hitch receivers have been around for a while. Most people (and car manufacturers) would rather admit that they tow things and let it be seen than hide it and weaken the structure by adding complexity and levers.
That said, that's an awesome implementation of the idea. Looks aside, it looks like it's a lot easier to install than a normal vertical mount. Our habit of overloading everything we see may doom it, though.

So true. Thankfully, all I want to pull is a small trailer with a Honda Grom and a Ruckus. Probably less than 1000 lbs total. I'm trying to decide how to make a receiver hitch work with a Mugen style body kit and the only option i see other than this is to cut up a perfectly good kit and that makes me sad. Wish there was a way to hide the hitch behind the center reflector on the Mugen style bumper.
I have not seen that before. Pretty impressive - personally I love the clean lines of the hidden hitch.
Are these available in US?
Do the make one with a receiver for mounting a bike rake or similar?
I'd prefer the simplicity of a receiver behind the plastic bumper. Plug the hole with a flush plug or a reflector, just as the towing socket is hidden on many cars.
It's amazing the contortions people will go through to avoid that hole in the bumper!
