LaneWatch Update
I brought my Fit to the dealer yesterday to get the intermittent LaneWatch camera repaired. When I picked it up, they said that it was working fine, so there was nothing they could do. I had told them several times that it was an intermittent problem which they would not be able to reproduce. Once again, they told me to bring it in when it stops working, keep it running, and they'll see if they can find the problem. I did that last week, but they weren't able to work on it. I've spoken to the service people about this on four separate occasions now.
This problem began a week after I got the car and has happened seventeen times so far. I've just written to Honda Customer Service so I have it in writing with them. The warranty is more than half gone, and I don't want an expired warranty to interfere with the repair.

Next time it fails, make a short video that demonstrates the problem. If the dealer won't look at the video, send it into Honda and tell them the dealer refused to cooperate with you. And then start looking for another dealer.

I have made a video. but it's irrelevant. I brought it to the dealer when it was malfunctioning, and they agreed that it wasn't working. What they want is to get their hands on it when it isn't working right, so they can find the cause. The problem is with the controls, not the camera itself, in my opinion. When it goes bad, it either doesn't turn on, or the rear camera turns on. Something is making the rear camera turn on, and that's the problem.

"Because it could be so many other things." Or so they say. The head unit is what controls the camera, and it's malfunctioning. Of course the car's computer also enters into it. If they replace the head unit, it will still display the same avg mpg as it did before the replacement.

Maybe they called Honda and Honda refused to reimburse them for replacing the head unit without more evidence that here was a head unit hardware problem?

What I would do is ask the service MANAGER (not the service writer) "WHO DO I NEED TO CALL TO GET THIS RESOLVED?" Offer to call Honda Customer Service in their presence. After that many trips (and occurrences) they need to try SOMETHING.
You also might look up your state's Lemon Law procedures and make some noises about invoking them (seems as if you have a case). (Bet they don't want to swap out a WHOLE CAR if just swapping the head unit might help)
