Head unit freezes for 1 to 48 hours, what's going on?
So I bought a used Honda Fit 2015 EX with 2800 miles on it roughly 2 months ago. The car itself has been great but one month in, the infotainment system has been freezing for no apparent reason. After some length of time (hours or days) it suddenly starts working again.
I've uploaded a video of what it looks like when this happens:
This happened 3 times in the past 9 days and at this point, 50% of the time I cannot use any of the features, cameras or audio systems of the car... thank god the dash still works!
Yesterday's scenario:
Left work and got on the highway and got on a phone call. After 2-3 miles of total drive time, the call suddenly cuts out and I look over to the screen which is doing the "whitewash" thing that you'll see towards the end of the video above.
When this occurs, bluetooth cannot connect anymore, buttons are not responsive; it's just completely frozen. So I pull over and shut it down, then restarted as shown in the video. The system just won't come back.
I got home, went to sleep, started it up this morning... still black screen. When I turn on my right blinker or manually activate it using the button on the tip of the blinker, it does the whitewash thing sometimes or tries to light up.
I took it into the dealership about an hour ago and I was handed some intermittent problem with the 7-inch display audio where it says that if you're basically USING the unit, it may freeze on you.
Is anyone else here experiencing this issue?! They didn't even look at it and I've barely put 1500 miles on this thing. This has happened at least 10 times now in the two months I've owned it and within a day or two it suddenly fixes itself until a few days later when it freezes up again.
I've called Honda of America to get this looked into because I don't know where to look to solve this issue and clearly my dealership won't even look at it.

Bulletin
I've uploaded the tech bulletin that I received from the dealership. Apparently this has been a thing since December that hasn't been addressed... it is now April.

To note, my phone is fully charged at work so I typically don't even plug my phone into USB. This issue occurred yesterday over bluetooth only, mid call, driving 65 on the highway, without the blinker or any other actions attempting to use the head unit. No audio systems (podcast, music, etc.) were on before or during the call.

Nope, they said "there's nothing we can do until there's a software update" and I was turned away. I've already contacted Honda of America so hopefully something comes of it. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue since a typical software issue is experienced by many, not just one or two people, especially if a bulletin was posted on a case where the head unit can freeze up.

I've had two or three head unit freezes, always when my iPod Classic was connected. But the head unit always rebooted and came right back after only a few moments. In fact, my iPod (not the head unit) seems to always freeze about 60 or so songs into a playlist, but it always resets after a few moments and is fine. A few months ago I switched to mp3s on a thumb drive and aside from shuffle mode seeming somewhat repetitive I have had zero problems.

Now's the time to stop playing nice.
So I spoke to a rep with Honda USA and was able to direct him to the bulletin I received and is also wondering why no replacement was made since it clearly states it at the end of the article. He also believes that the issue isn't related to the bulletin since it doesn't come back on for hours/days since a typical scenario is like the one described above by Bach, where after listening to so many songs it reboots and comes back up within a few minutes.
He's going to contact them and says by mid next week this problem WILL be resolved. Despite this setback I still love my tiny little fit

Replaced
The head unit was replaced on Monday and it's been working fine since then. I haven't had a crash yet. Will update when it happens again to see if it comes back up or still stays dead for days.
