Question which year/gen should i get?

Hey guys!

So I had a 2010 Fit Sport brand new.. orange [my favorite color]. It was my favorite, but got wrecked by a friend

Now I have a 2015 Fit. It isn't as fun to drive as the 2010, but I can't figure out why.

One thing about my car that bothers me..
it seemed out of line because whenever I would let go of the wheel the car would drift to the right, so I took it in for an alignment. Still drifted afterward though. I noticed the alignment issue last winter when I also noticed a loud cracking noise coming from under the car when I would turn the wheel at a slow speed, or when I'd be turning the wheel completely stopped. I took it to the dealership and they blamed rocks and salt [had some heavy snows], and charged me an arm and a leg for labor.. But they didn't solve the issue. It's pretty much stopped, but a couple weeks ago I was pulling into my driveway and it gave a loud Crack [first one in a while]. NOW, my car still drifts, but it drifts to the left. If they charged me so much for knocking a couple rocks out from under the carriage, I can't imagine how much they'd charge me to investigate this strange problem. I'd rather just get rid of the car and start fresh.

Along with that issue, I am plagued with the TPMS light problem, where the light comes on every few thousand miles for seemingly no reason at all. There are also some things with the bluetooth that frustrate me.

So. I feel I was spoiled with the 2010 Sport, and I'm not too impressed w/ my 2015. I was thinking about trading it in for a 2016 or 2017. Thoughts? Suggestions? Do you guys think they will eventually offer heated cloth seats? How does the 2016 model compare to older models? Should I ditch 3rd gen and go 1st or 2nd instead? How do you think the '17 will compare to current models?

Thanks a lot!

I do not think you understand how TPMS works. Do a search, you'll get there if you put in the effort.

Never had this issue with my 2010. I understood it to be a warning light that tells you if your tire(s) is more than 25% deflated. Correct me if I'm wrong. Every time I've checked my tires when the light comes on they've been fine. And it's not a temperature issue, because no matter how long you let the light stay on, or how much the temperature varies while the light is on, it won't go off. I have to manually reset it.

From what I understand, the 2015 is same as the 2016. So you might want to wait for the next one. I got a 2016 2 weeks ago and couldn't be happier. Minor quirks? Yes. Alignment issues? No. Car appears to be just fine to me. My first Honda after decades with VW. Good Luck with your choice.

I had an '09 Fit Sport and I have a '15 Fit EX (both manuals). The '09 was my favorite car up to that point. The '15 has had it's build quality issues, but despite that, I still consider it a better car than the '09 in nearly every way save initial quality.

Mike410b will be here soon to tell you to look for another used 2nd gen Fit. The 4th gen Fit probably won't be out until 2021 or thereabouts, so you might have a long wait for the "next" one.

The Gen 3 fit is more refined, in that its a more comfortable ride but does loose the fun go cart feeling of the Gen1 and Gen 2. I personally prefer the rougher, go cart like feeling of the earlier generations but I believe most would probably prefer a smoother/number more comfortable ride, Honda probably figured the same.
