Rear Shock Issues?!

A few months ago (yes, I drive that much), and right before the warranty expired, I took my Fit in for service and had them look into a couple issues. However, at that service (literally, some 35,600 miles I think) they found out that my rear shocks were leaking on both sides, and replaced them the next week.

Fast forward to today. I got my oil changed at the dealer (a different dealer, because I moved) and they didn't say anything outside of a tranny flush recommendation. I had one at 30k at my old dealer, so that's not really needed. However, I took the Ch3rrybomb to Midas to get an inspection so I could be an Uber driver (judge away), and they said the shocks were starting to leak again--at 50k miles!

Twice in the first 50k miles! Am I driving that aggressively, or has anyone else had issues with their rear shocks too? Once they get to the point of needing replacing (Midas guy said it wasn't immediate), I'm considering getting coilovers because low. Thoughts?

I had all four wheels off mine last week to do some touch-up paining on the hubs. I looked at the shocks and struts but saw no sign of leaks. 22,000 on the car.

Yes, I have a 2019 FIT and 32,000 miles. Went in for check-up of rear tires and they said the guy found cupping on the inner side of the rear tires and "that's always due to suspension problems." Apparently the shocks are expensive (over $300 each) and with new tires 1300 altogether. There's still life in the tires so I'm saving up for the whole thing at once; 2 back tires and rear shocks.

I don't really recall seeing much in the way of shock problems being posted here.

If I had to change my shocks I think I'd go to an independent rather than a Honda dealer.

I had a generally noisy suspension when I bought my GK5 in Oct 2020 from a Toyota Dealer.
When I asked the Honda dealer if it was covered under warranty, they said shocks and struts are considered "wear" items, so there's no warranty.
I upgraded all associated hardware with the HFP kit and all noise went away.

$300 shocks

There are many aftermarket options, even for OEM type performance, which are way under $300 a side. No rocket surgery here. No electronics or anything. 1 nut up top and one nut and bolt down below. Very accessible. If the tires still have tread, you can have them remounted inside out. Rigid collars may help straighten the rear axle. If you find excessive toe on either side, shims are available to get it straightened out...

Verify the rear shocks yourself. Wipe them down and check again in a few thousand miles to make sure there is actually leaking.

I remember I went in to get some work done on my 4runner and the Firestone guy said my rear differential was leaking. I asked him to show me. He brought me back and the rear pumpkin liked shiny. I wiped it with my finger and saw clean looking oil on it. I told them don't work on the pumpkin and just finished the work I already approved. I went home sprayed off the pumpkin with brake cleaner and kept an eye on it. No leaks. I park in the same spot and never saw a leak before or after. I figure if it was leaking for a while, that pumpkin would be coated with dusty oil residue.

I told my friend who is the service manager and he confronted the tech, who admitted he was padding his work to make extra money.
