Suspension Options

One of my rear shocks (or both, I'm not sure) is blown, and seeing as this is the second time I've had to replace them since I got the car, I'm looking for an alternative to stock parts. I'm also wanting to lower my car (since I'm doing suspension work anyways), and need options. Thought about going all out and getting coilovers, but I also use my car for Uber (about 20 hours a week) and don't want too stiff of a ride for my passenger's sake. So I was looking into lowering springs and was thinking about Eibach Pro-Kits, but then I need upgraded shocks and struts, which nobody seems to make for the GK. Anybody know of anything I'm missing, and if so any reviews/recommendations?

If you are hauling a lot of weight with passengers, you could do my air shock mod. Koni has a decent set of rear shocks too. If it were me i would be lowering the car if its an uber car. The more ground clearance and better shocks are the way to go IMHO

Koni doesn't make shocks for the GK, and Idk if I wanna mess around with modding the GE shocks to fit. So far I haven't seen any aftermarket ones for the GK, but I don't want to go with the crappy stock ones again if they're gonna fail again right away.
But I see your point about lowering versus ground clearance. The air suspension isn't gonna happen cuz I'm nowhere near affording that. Haha

$65 bucks for a set of rear air shocks, another $15 in threaded rod/hardware, an afternoon of time, some basic hand tools, floor jack, 6 pack of beer, call it a day? Not terribly expensive I dont think.

I guess that's not too expensive, but I guess I have no knowledge of what goes into such a system. However, wouldn't I need to take up space in the trunk with an air compressor? And wiring all that in......

I'm just having a hard time distinguishing between the rear leveling air suspension in my dad's old Chevy Venture van or the ridiculous "bagged" cars that are dropped to the ground.

How are you blowing out dampers so quickly? 206 fill-ups translates to 5x,xxx miles, my car has 65k miles, is four years old & has lived in WI from day one....yet the shocks are all still in very solid shape.

My S2000 has 139,xxx miles & even its OEM (as far as I know) dampers are still alive and well.

I drive my car a little harder than the average Fit user, but Minnesota roads are absolutely terrible too which doesn't help. I also had loaded probably 500 lbs of equipment in the back regularly for short distances. But outside of those things, I don't see any reason outside of bad luck and crappy parts.

This is also my first car to use shocks instead of struts all around, and it's not giving me a good feeling about them. I've never had issues with my cars before this that used struts, so I'm not really happy with how it's going thus far.

Also, I'm at 55,000 miles. First found the leak before 50,000.

The Konis for the GE bolt right to the GK with no mods.

500lbs + bad roads regularly will do it.

For reals? I saw somebody had used them, but I thought they had rewelded one of the mounting plates in a different spot to make it work. (Was that you that did it? Haha)
