Replacing Battery in Remote

Have any of you had to replace the CR2032 battery in the remote yet? My son's car beeped and showed a key icon in the instruments.

Should be easy replace. See pages 395 and 396 of owners manual for instructions.

Yes. Since we alternate fobs, we changed both when one triggered the warning. It only cost $17 at the dealer. That's cheaper than a jeweler for a watch, but we did see them in Ace for $7 for a pack of 5.

I get several at a time from Amazon for just few dollars. All four remotes are two years old, so I'll replace all batteries.

CR2032 batteries are the standard batteries for desktop computers. Any computer store will have them.

I bought 100 batteries on eBay for about $10.

Since each battery should last you 2 years of remote use, you're good until 2216. Or do you have a room full of desktops?

Most will be dead by the time you want to use them. That sometimes happens to me, but t the low cost, it doesn't matter. I put the date on the packaging when I get them.

We have four of those remotes and several tuners for stringed instruments that use the same battery. I also carry them with me so I can give them to players whose tuner batteries go dead. Some radio remotes also use those batteries. I wish they didn't have so many different battery sizes. Some remotes use the 2025, which is just a little bit thinner.
