Third generation armrest

So, I know it has been discussed but I can't seem to find a good answer and can't believe that there is no good option.

Is there a good option for the rather sh#*ty low armrest in the third generation Fit. I have a 2012 also and the armrest in that is great.

Any suggestions?

I added my own. Click my sig picture to see it. It adds a bit over 2 inches to the height of the stock armrest and some more storage.

There are arm rests from Honda for the Japanese Fit, but not for North America. You'll need to add a bolster or fashion your own. There are many designs on this forum.

You do really need an arm rest that is level with your door arm rest.

This morning I was thinking of getting some sort of pillow for an arm rest.

That, essentially, is the meat of many an armrest solution for most North American Fits, a square and firm pillow.

Ha! No you don't. For some of us, the armrest is fine as is.

I have a manual, and I drive my car, it's not a Barcalounger.

So ToronroBoy, you say there are arm rests for the Japanese fits, not NA fits,

do you mean they are only available in Japan?

Thanks.

Obviously Honda dropped the design ball with the North American Arm Rest.

The first week I hated the center console and the mini-pit, too low arm rest.

Now however, I'm not so sure I'm going to do anything. A lot of times, I find myself enjoying the elbow room NOT having anything there creates.
I think I'll just buy a small cushion,- foam, and use it IF and only IF I'm going on a long drive. Otherwise, I've kinda grown to like the absence of anything in the space.

On second glance may not be from Honda...

Where are you located? in the US? I did not think there was a factory option for the armrest. Here in Canada you get one with the EX/LX model and none with the DX. These cannot be ordered nor deleted.

I just bought a 2016 LX Fit. The armrest is way too low for my liking. I traded in a 2012 Fit Sport that had an armrest that was good. I'm looking for a solution that looks good and works good. I'd like to see pics of any and all add-ons that have been done.
If there is another thread with pics I would appreciate a link.
Thanks

Lots of posts on the subject. I made my own that I'm very happy with, link in signature. And elbow rests for the doors.
