Chevrolet Cruze Fans
I think it MAY be related to the catch can/DFI threads. But it think it has more to do with the turbocharger system. Way back in the day GM "let" customers be the "beta" testers on the small 215 CID Olds and the Corvair. The Olds was water cooled and had an effective release valve. The Corvair air cooled and had a far less effective release valve that would be wired to boost the pressure beyond safe levels. That and some asbestos wrapping could cause the turbo to spin even higher.
An urban legend had an ultra (very) hot Corvair that would street race Corvettes and muscle cars and beat them regularly. If one of them came close to beating the 'Vair, the owner would cause the turbo boost the little aluminum flat 6 to even higher levels.
Final race, the little Spyder burst into flames, leaving a totally burnt out body and a puddle of aluminum at the rear, about 10 feet from the starting line.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is a Malibu, not a Cruze. It'd be like confusing a Civic for an Accord.
How this relates to Honda Fits isn't clear, but it seems like a cheap shot at GM. All I can say is that my Chevy Sonic hasn't had the numerous repairs that my Fit had
