2016 Fit EX Shifter Illumination

Are the shifter positions supposed to illuminate when the headlights are on? I just recently got a new 2016 Fit EX and noticed that they don't light up (which is odd if they don't).

Not sure about the EX buy my LX also does not illuminate on individual shifter positions. I wish that it would. It just lights the P to S section. The shift position does show up on the dash.

Not mine. It's displayed on the dash.

Right... looking at the dash is better since it keeps your eyes up and once you remember the all familiar P R N D S pattern, you'll never need to look at the physical shifter again.

After using the middle console shifter on the Fit, I hate using the antiquated steering column shifter on the Odyssey.
