Smart Seat - 2015 EX-L

I was trying to lift a smart seat up so I can put tall item on the floor. It won't let me, I discovered that the metal hook (on the floor where the leg was resting) was holding the leg of the seat down. How do I unlock it?

I didn't think they locked, I just give mine a good tug at the edge and up it goes. Push the leg bracket to lock the seat in the upright position and it's good to go.

^^^ What Bach said ^^^ They just kinda clip into place when down, no locking involved...gentle tug upward at the front is all that's needed on mine (requires less force than I would've thought, really, at least on mine).

it is worth mentioning that the smart seat won't stay in the up position until you fold the support leg down.

You could go to your dealer and have them give you a lesson on the smart seats.

I never thought they were particularly "smart" seats, it's a kinda "magic"

I had used the smart "magic" seats so many times in past times. Until last week when I posted this thread.

I went to local Honda to have them take a look at it but somehow the metal hook is no longer there. I am now able to lift it up. I was "WTH". I have no idea why!

Oh well!

IIRC there is a hook-ish thing that locks the support leg into place, maybe it was jammed. My rear floor can get pigsty sometimes and I had trouble locking it down once (I usually keep it raised) because something was jammed in there; you might have had something similar. I'd put it real low on my list of things to worry about unless it happens again.
