Question Rear whiper VS winter times

Is anyone are angry with the fact that the rear whiper work by itself when the front whipers are on and you put the car on the R position? This piss me off totally when there is some ice or mud on the back glass so it scratch my back glass and my nerves. So my question is: how do i disconnect the wire or something to keep my whiper functionning but not when the car is backing down. For now I've removed the little fuse in the fuse box and removed my whiper. I've made a black plastic plug to fit on the screw. Thanks a lot.

It's a built in feature. My Saturn Astra had it too. As far as I know, there's no way to defeat it, except by turning off your front wipers first before reversing.

I usually clean my rear window before driving off, b/c it's safer if I can actually see out the back.

Suggestion: Make sure the front wiper is off before you put your car in reversing.

First world problem, that. There are many more serious things in the world that make me angry. A rear wiper that turns itself on when I back up barely registers on the "annoyance" meter.
