Need new tires 2015 LX- which are best?

I looking at new tires for my 2015 Fit LX. The existing ones are very noisy, and add to the standard noise of the car. Just had an alignment at the dealer recently. I'm looking for recommendations for new replacements. Thanks in advance.

You ask which is best? We can't read your mind. It's different depending on if you want Autocross tires, all season, summer only, winter only, drag racing or maybe track tires? It also matters what's important to you. Traction, mileage, tires to last until 100K miles or price? Only you have the answer to those questions. Tires are a series of compromises. You won't get something to stick like glue in the summer, be good in snow, rain, last forever and only cost $50 each. Good luck

Sorry, wasn't specific enough. In Florida, so all season. Need high quality tire for daily commute, and some traveling. Price not a consideration. A good replacement for the stock tires.

Just recently replaced the stock Firestones with general altimax rt43 in larger 205/50/16. Haven't done a full tank yet but so far the trip mpg has been the same. They're quieter and softer ride, while better handling. $420 installed.

I'm hoping for $300 installed with lifetime rotation and balance.

Sorry just realised you had an LX. The 15" tires should be cheaper

These factors contribute to a quieter tire:

185/60 R15 84T - Narrower width
185/60 R15 84T - Larger aspect ratio
185/60 R15 84T - Smaller wheel diameter
185/60 R15 84T - Lower load index
185/60 R15 84T - Lower rated speed
Softer rubber

Who are you kidding, most expect 60K miles or MORE, cost under $300 installed, have free rotation and balance. LOL

I've run the DWS on my wife car. Actually had two sets. They'll last 30-35K miles or at least that's when I replaced them. Mostly country road driving without many turns. But then I also replace tires way before they are down to the minimum 2mm wear indicators. If you go by the "u folks" standard than more like 40K miles LOL

I'm running Michelin Premier tires in same size as stock. They ride nice overall, grip better, and are a little quieter than stock. I really didn't notice too much/excessive road noise from the stock tires, but I regularly drive a wide range of vehicles from very small to very large so my idea of loud may be skewed somewhat.

Shouldn't a higher aspect ratio, i.e. a taller sidewall, reduce road noise?

Bought our '15 LX CPO, previous owner had replaced original tires with Cooper CS3....they seem fine, for now....wearing fine, no excess noise, am fine with that...for now Don't have the disposable income to replace tires on a whim....heh

I agree with your comment. I thought the link I included might be mistaken (or mis-worded) so, I call tirerack.com. They say: more sidewall would diminish road noise. I changed my previous post to reflect what tirerack says.

OK, I missed by $30. Hey it's a Fit, a car that gets me from A to B. I put in gas, change the oil, buy new tires at around 40K miles. It's one of the least expensive car on the market, I am not going to pamper this thing. There are tires that sell for less. If you want to pay $500, that's fine too.

hahaha!!

huh, u did over 30k miles on them huh? cool. i usually sell my cars before reaching 30k miles and run several wheel sets so never get to those milages. maybe i will keep my GTI longer this time and may come close to 20k miles on them. lol (my winter set is DWS06, i run S04's in the summer on this car).

Nothing like buying garbage for the most important safety component on a car.

Only problem:

RT43 are not good tires.

At all.

Source: Had RT43 on my first Fit.

OP: Michelin Premier seem like a great choice.

Just recently went to 205/50/16 RT43 and am happy over the stock tires.
