Map Lights Left on

I left one of my map lights on overnight. Im talking about manual push lights posterior to the rearview mirror. Do they have an auto shut off feature?

When i noticed the light on, it was super warm to touch. And how bad is that for my battery?

Did the car start? I wouldn't worry about your battery too much.

I've changed the map, dome and trunk lights to led. Much brighter and they draw less power.

Well, the fact that the light didn't shut off when left on overnight kinda confirms that there's no "auto off" feature, doesn't it?

I also replaced all my interior lights with LEDs for the reasons mentioned above. I also like the "whiter" light they give off.

i still run the factory bulbs in the GK but my other cars all run LED. i do agree, LED's have much less power consumption and a more attractive illumination. a plus plus imho too.

The same thing happened to me. But I was gone for 2 days and my battery was dead.

The LED bulbs sound like a good idea. I may get some today.

For the map lights, I ended up using these instead:
Amazon Amazon

they also throw ALL the light in the proper direction.
