2018 Fit "Launching" next month...Questions.

Sport model, still doesn't have heated side mirrors or winkers. Its the same engine, 6MT not offered on the higher trims, cant even custom order it. It still only comes with halogen headlights, no projectors. Sport model doesn't come with optional moonroof or push button start? Fail. All that Honda Sensing nonsense is only available on the CVT? Well thats good, shouldn't be on a 6MT anyway.
Overall, happy with the 2017. 2018 is a bit more flash, and no significant upgrades to the core issues the Fit still has. Im sure those cosemtic tweaks will move some metal, but I think many will still go for an LX rather than the higher trims.

"The Fit EX includes Honda Sensing® standard on both CVT and 6MT models. This marks the first application of Honda's suite of advanced safety and driver assistive features to a model equipped with a manual transmission."

Yup. You can see it in the interior photos on the Hondanews.com website. It's just like the CR-V. I wish they would add a tuning knob too, I hate tapping a digital button to go through the stations.

According to the press release from Honda, the EX will be available with both Honda Sensing and a manual. The press release says it's the first such application of that combo. So push button start, a sunroof, and a manual are possible.

I don't know where they would get the pricing from. As far as I know Honda hasn't released that info for the 2018 yet. Mind you that would not be a surprise since I would expect the Honda Sensing suite to add considerably to the 2018 pricing over 2017.

They (cars.com) list many dozens of 2018 fits, with specific VINs and prices, at many dealers near me, so I expect the Honda and dealer websites to be following up shortly with more "official" information.

just get the 7" display model around 500 range(?) and run carplay maps and nav. both my GTI and R have factory navs but i almost never use it. lol

yah, check out the pioneer AVH4200NEX. i remember looking at the NEX models while i had my previous hobby car that came with an ancient headunit. lol im pretty sure it supports apple maps just like any carplay headunit.. be a waste to buy built in nav.

a member pm'ed me if they would have to install a separate satellite antenna. no need, if carplay, it uses your iphone's satellite antenna so it's really just plug into the USB via lightening connector and ure all set. you can still play music off your iphone WHILE using the nav feature on the iphone as ure able to do with just BT. cool stuff.
here what the carplay screen looks like. here's a sony one for a little less money.
if u have pandora, iheatreadio, spotify, installed on ur iphone those icons would show up too.

LX - $16190
SPORT - $17500
EX - $18160
EX-L - $20520
There's not a large gap between the Sport and EX. For $660 more you can get AA/Carplay, moonroof and hondasensing (if that's your cup of tea). The moonroof alone is worth the upgrade to EX IMO.
I'd like to order the side skirts separately, hopefully they'll come pre-painted.
Looks like there is a spoiler upgrade too. Should work on earlier models as the rear spoiler doesn't appear to have changed.

2018 pricing on the Honda website is misleading. If you choose the $800 CVT option, you automatically get the $1000 sensing option. It would have been more honest to offer a $1800 CVT/Sensing option, because that's what it really is; a single option for $1800.

You're right. The thing is that the dealers will point to the 2018 model and exclaim "Look, it's a thousand dollars more than the 2017 model! You're saving that much by buying the 2017 model." They won't mention the Honda Sensing issue on the 2018, they'll just use the price difference to imply the 2017 is already being steeply discounted in comparison to the 2018 and nothing further should be expected.

But even that was on the media site, there is literally ZERO information on this car on Honda's consumer website. No information about whether we are getting CarPlay or a coming soon blurb or anything.
I'm just waiting for final information so I can go into my dealer and order one for this fall. In this era of the Internet they need to time their releases better.
Especially since we Canadians actually buy subcompact cars.

An interesting article, rather dismal reading though. People are buying large cars, SUVs, and trucks because gas is cheap cheap cheap. Until oil turns around which could be years away the situation shows no sign of change. The Fit sales are somewhat cannibalized by the more appealing HRV whose sales are steadily increasing.
