2018 Fit "Launching" next month...Questions.

An interesting article, rather dismal reading though. People are buying large cars, SUVs, and trucks because gas is cheap cheap cheap. Until oil turns around which could be years away the situation shows no sign of change. The Fit sales are somewhat cannibalized by the more appealing HRV whose sales are steadily increasing.

I don't get it either, but many people find all those things appealing in a car.

I still can't get over how cheap it is to fill the Fit. I drive about 20k a year and I'm paying $60-$80 a month on gas. It's awesome! I used to pay 3-4x that when I drove my 4Runner. I'm taking that extra money and investing in brokerage account to fund the car after the Fit.

The current price of regular in Middle Tennessee is 1.999/gallon (within 2-3 cents higher). With Kroger discount points, I'm paying 30-50 cents/gallon less. That's with a 4 cents per gallon state tax increase. My first Honda (1980 Civic Wagon) paid for its self over the gas guzzling Laguna Estate Wagon.

Ain't worth it to me. There MIGHT be 3-4 days per winter where 4WD might be useful. I just avoid the other fool drivers. Sit up higher? The Fit isn't my son's former Miata. Truly YMMV. Actually the 13% drop between Jun 16 and Jun 17 is that great since there was no MMC announced in 2016. The Year to Date 2016 to 2017 drop of 4% isn't exactly doomsday.

Looks like they dropped the mini stereo audio jack on the lx 2018, now only a single USB in the dash center console. Too bad, I use mine for my XM radio I move around from car to car. I wonder if any one makes a mini stereo plug to USB converter device?
