Difference between 2nd generation fit and 2018 Honda fit

I have 2013 Honda Fit base and clocking around 47,000 miles. Till now no problem accept oil change. Think about upgrading to 2018 ex . Is 2018 fit significantly better than 2013 in terms of comfort , reduced noise level, solid interior etc. Any 2018 owner fill in their experience?

My impression of all I've read is the current generation is a little quieter, more refined, has better mileage, and performs better in safety tests, but at the expense of some fun. Of course, the 2018 refresh has the Honda Sensing available too.

Slightly different lower front fascia, rear grills are more horizontal. Volume knob on stereo is new. Adaptive cruise control allows it to set it to follow cars on the highway and self adjusts speed even to a stop if needed. Lane keep assist will gently steer car to keep it in the lane, though it will beep if you take your hands off the wheel for too long and the lane markers have to be fairly clear. I have the EX-L with heated front seats and not sure if the heated seats are new. I like the Auto lock feature: basically the doors lock automatically when you walk away from the car-no need to push any buttons on the door handle or key fob. Most important is AEB where it will automatically brake if it detects an impending frontal collision. The Honda emblem on the front is larger for '18, since the radar sensor is behind the badge.

Changes made to the Fit over the last few years are best described as slow and incremental. Honda has gradually made a gradual series of small improvements to the Fit but nothing too radical at any one time. Maybe they're holding their own with the competition but they're certainly not leaping ahead.

I consider any vehicle with less than 60,000 barely broken in.

I don't know if I'd be willing to trade in a Gen 2 with only 47,000.

How do you enable the feature where the door locks when you walk away? My 2018 doesn't do that. I've tested it. I've walked away from my car and had someone go up and open it, it wasn't locked.

Walk-away auto lock is one of my favorite features of this car, along with Auto Emergency Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control (adjusts speed with traffic). No more going back to the parking lot to check if I forgot to lock it. I'm new to this forum. Not sure if this is new for '18 Fits. Anyone with a '15-'17 FIT have walk-away auto lock?

I do NOT think my 2016 Honda Fit EX has this feature.
I wish it did. It's nice.

Great that Honda has upgraded to add this feature.
Wish they had done so in 2016.

I actually had a 1990's vehicle that had a walk away auto lock feature and it is nice. You never have to worry that you've accidentally left your vehicle unlocked.
I've walked out of dinners and movies, just to double check that I've locked my vehicle.
With a walk away auto lock, you never have to do that.

There's actually two methods of turning the autolock feature on but this note from the downloadable manual is interesting since it implies that this feature can be set up to work with one key only:

"The auto lock function is set to OFF as the factory default setting. The auto lock function can be set to ON using the audio/information screen or MID.

If you set the auto lock function to ON using the audio/information screen or the MID, only the remote transmitter that was used to unlock the driver’s door prior to the setting change can activate auto lock."

I test drove a 2015, I owned a 2012 Sport 5MT & a 2008 Sport 5AT at the time.

I found the 2015 EX to be the least comfortable of the three.

That said, no Honda Fit has ever been comfortable.

There are a few changes but whether they can be considered significant is really dependent on individual preferences.

I did see the 2018 Sport on the showroom floor when I was there getting an oil change and rather liked the changes to the rear styling and the orange and black colour option available with the Sport. Looked pretty nice.
