Adding leather interior to 2017 Fit EX?

I am new to the Fit World and am loving my 2017 EX MT. I really wanted the EX-L but wanted a MT. Now I am loosely considering adding leather interior to the EX. I love the the car and the features but wish that would've been an option when purchasing. Can anyone offer any suggestion or photos if you have done this upgrade?

I applaud your decision to opt for the manual over leather, but I agree that it would be nice to have both.

Katzkin makes decent leather kits and has lots of options. You can go with a factory look or build your own kit however you want. It's not cheap, but it looks great in the end. Their Site includes an installer locator so you could also start buy calling someone local.

In a previous car, I bought a kit from an installer and then installed it myself. It was NOT an easy project, but it came out great and was a fun experience.

Yeah, 6 spd manual definitely trumps leather. I have a leather wrapped milled aluminum billet shift knob in our LX, that's enough leather for me. Only car we've had with leather seats is my wife's Kia Forte SX, and, I dunno what kind of leather Kia uses, but ...stiff....like dinosaur leather, or somethin' My brother used to have a '66 Porsche 911, and the leather in that thing was stiff as a board as well, but I attributed that to it being old leather. Is Honda's Fit leather supple?

best 'leather' for sports cars and sporty cars is alcantara (faux suede) imho. no butt sliding at all.. although my non-alcantara leather seats dont slip like those leather seats from the past.

good job grabbing MT over leather.

You should inquire at a local auto upholsterer's about the leather seats if that's what you want. The styles would vary so ask for options. Bring your wallet.

+++++

I agree with Fuelish...many of the 'coated' leather seats in use in today's cars are hard, not soft & supple like they used to be.

You can also try Clazzio seat covers: Clazzio Seat Covers - #1 Trusted Site - Customizable Leather Seat Covers

For your 2017, leather in black or dark gray at $599, or PVC at $329.

I'm in the same boat. I love leather seats. I don't care if they're cold. I don't care if they're hot. They feel great. They make a car smell wonderful. They're great.

I looked at Katzkins about 2 years ago. It was over a grand. Just couldn't pull the trigger.

Yeah I got a quoute today from a local Katskins installer for $1800. I figured maybe around $1200-$1400. It's a sub-compact car!

I think the $1200 was a good guess. I'm surprised by the $1800 quote. Was that for full leather with custom options or something?

Most dealers add about $1,000 to do an OEM type Katzkin kit I believe.

That price was for full leather kit. It includes armrest, doors, etc.

Thanks for the suggestion. I received a quote of $1800 installed for Katzkins. Even if it took me 24 hours it would be worth it to save the money. I am sure the kit is probably half of that amount.

I think the kit itself with door panels and armrest was around $750. That was for a leather/vinyl split like the OEM leather interiors.

Key is finding a shop that will sell you the kit.

Another good supplier is Classic Soft Trim. I've seen their kits and been impressed with their stuff as well.

No custome options at all. Just full leather everywhere there is cloth now.

As someone else had posted the Katzkin stuff is nice.

A more simplified approach might just be to use Car-part.com and buy OEM leather

I don't even own a leather wallet.
Sure if you want leather, you can get it, in numerous forms.

It really just comes down to how much you want it vs. cost. Which for me is prohibitive.

I kind of like cloth. It's durable, cleanable, warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and if I want my vehicle to smell like anything I'll either fart or use air freshener or both.
