Look what my Fit dragged home(towing)

A little over 500 miles, 50-55 mph 4-5th gear, 30.9 mpg. Car did great, getting passed by trucks could start the trailer moving, but nothing scary. Big thanks to Bassguitar1985 his posts helped tremendously with getting the towing bits sorted.

It's there. Fuselage is between the wings.

Glider is 420lb, not sure about the trailer, steel tube. All of it should be under 1,000. Tows fine.

Which is less secure? Handling the load while getting past by trucks or flying the glider? Nice job. The Fit is much more capable than just the magic seats. What I like to have are removable roof eyelets that are can be attached to structural points for tie downs.

Suspension is stock. Tongue weight is, guessing, 100 lbs. Car squats a little when you hook up, but seems fine. No bottoming out. Was worried about excessive compression before I tried it but now the plan is to leave it stock.

Very cool! I've flown a 2 seat Schweizer, but I can't recall the exact model and don't have my logbook nearby. Project or airworthy? Looks nice!

The Fit's engine will never get that plane off the ground! Turbo or not.

You probably could ground launch behind a Fit, though at some point the rear wheels might come off the ground. And groundlaunching sailplanes is notoriously hard on cars.
There is a Fit engine aero conversion https://www.vikingaircraftengines.com/ I don't follow that scene closely have heard the guy behind these engine conversions doesn't have a great reputation for delivering a working product or a product at all.

They used to use VW engines. They must have to be certified, right?

I wonder if he gets the engines out of wrecks.
