Unhappy How does the Fit fare on WA weather?

Hi all. We're thinking of moving to WA. Are there Fit enthusiasts here that live somewhere in Spokane? My biggest worry is moving there and having to get rid of our 2 Fits.

I'm not certain what you're asking, but if it's about wet conditions, I've driven through three tropical storms and countless Florida thunderstorms with ease.

I’m asking how it fares with snowy conditions. I remember hearing Spokane gets a lot of snow, I’m not sure if it’s accurate. I bought my Fit when I was moving to the South and never really had to drive it in snowy conditions. I have driven it in snowed in NYC but only a few times since 2016.

We got around a foot of snow in the last two weeks here in Wisconsin.

I'm still alive to post this, having driven my Fit (a 2012 mind you) every day in that span.

Get some winter tires. They make an enormous difference.

+1

Spokane rarely gets significant accumulation, maybe 10" per month during the winter. FWD is perfectly fine.

I've lived in Spokane and Coeur d'Alene during some very nasty winters with snow accumulation up to 4 ft. I grew up in Cleveland O so I was used to driving in snow. The Fit was fine even without winter tires. If you've never driven in snow it will be a challenge.

Thanks for the info folks. I'm not that great in driving in piled up snow. They de-iced and cleaned up snow every day in NYC and the 95, but with some careful practicing I'm glad to hear we'll be fine keeping our 2008 manual sport and 2015.

I drove my '09 Fit for six years in upstate NY winters on all-season tires and got by. For my '15 Fit, I bought 4 snow tires and can go in any weather I'd dare be out in (no matter how good a vehicle you have, if you can't see, you shouldn't be out there).

I've often thought of getting a set of snow tires for the Fit but the late great GTI had needed them more and I never got around to it then so now it would feel too much like cheating.

Did you move? I live in Spokane and the fit is great. My 2015 came with Firestone tires which are astonishingly bad in the snow however. I went to the tire shop and had them sipe the tires (put little cuts in them.) All of those biting edges helped a lot.

New tires next month.

Our winters normally drop close to 200" of snow. Second winter with my 2017 FIT LX. With four snow tires, it handles just about anything.

Have a great tire shop which, if you buy your snows from them, store your tires free off season and switches them at no charge. Can't beat that kind of service.

The Fit is so light and nimble it handles rain and snow with ease.

The Fit drives very well in snow. I have Michelin X-Ice xi3 winter tires, -1, 14".
