Unhappy daylight mode instrument panel brightness not working

I traded in my 2015 Fit last year for a 2017 Fit Sport. I seem to recall that, on the 2015, when in "daylight mode", the speedo/tach/fuel gauges were automatically brightly lit at full brightness. I've noticed lately that on my 2017, only the fuel gauge lights up brightly in daylight. The tach and speedo remain completely dark and barely readable. Honda dealer says nothing is wrong. Is this normal? I think all 3 gauges should be on automatically at full brightness when in "daylight mode" (and not controllable via the dimmer knob).

BTW, in "night mode" with external lights on, the dash lights work as they should, and can be controlled via the dimmer knob.

mine is a 16 EX and same as yours, i checked yesterday while picking up some mexican food for supper that only the fuel gauge is lit. but the needle is easy to read and do not have issues seeing it. maybe you were driving directly into the sun?

There are settings in the infotainment system, to adjust both the dash display and the stereo display brightness settings. Including whether or not to auto adjust, and how sensitive to make them.
