2015 Navi: no traffic information available

2015 Navi: no traffic information available
Hi everyone,
First time posting. I bought a 2015 Fit this summer, and the navigation map traffic icon is always red. When I go to the Navi menu and select Traffic Incidents, it says no information available. I haven’t driven to another city to see if the problem persists. However, I just test drove a courtesy 2017 fit at the dealer with the same navigation system, and there is plenty of traffic info available. The traffic icon also appears green.
Is it a problem of my maps being out of date? It doesn’t make logical sense because while my map may be a few years old, I should still be able to receive traffic info. I also don’t want to pay $100+ for a map update only to find out that that traffic info is still not available.
Does anyone else have the same problem? Thank you kindly.

Sounds like a software issue if the traffic info isn't displaying. Could be corrupted or in need of a firmware update, but that's not something you should be responsible for.
Have you contacted Honda corporate? I would try that first before taking it to a dealer. Let us know how it works out.
