Replacement Key
I just purchased my second Fit and upgraded to the gen 3. It has push button start but only has one key fob. Whats my best route to get a second key? Anyone have experiences of prices for each?
Buy a fob online and have Honda program?
Buy directly from Honda?
Or could I put remote start on it and get an additional fob that way?

Now if you bought it off someone or if your dealership doesn’t offer the complimentary replacement, get ready to spend around $170-300 (assuming all stealerships are created equal). I found this KIA thread (https://www.kia-forums.com/2011-2013...s/65592?page=2) discussing the matter. There’s a parts manager who quoted $170 for the Fob alone, which is still cheaper than what my dealership would charge me. (Kia and Honda are under the same dealership where I live)
If my memory serves me right, a friend of mine spent close to $250 for his Honda’s replacement Fob. I think he had a newer model Civic.
As as far as purchasing the fob online, I might have found the part number! (72147-T5A-A01) This is for my 2017 6MT EX. Kindly see link below.
https://www.hondapartsnow.com/genuin...unit,3074258,8 I have purchased a lot of parts from this website. It’s reputable. They charge half the price than what a dealership would charge and that’s inclusive of shipping! Now all you need to do is find out how much the dealership will charge for labor and maybe you’ll save some money. I would ask them first how much a full replacement would cost then ask for the cost of labor only. You can make a decision from there. Hope this helps!
