What! That is awesome! I definitely want to get one!

Two questions:
1. Does Fumoto come with a magnetic version?
2. Will this also fit for the transmission?
3. Which version of the Fumoto valve will properly fit on a 2012 Honda Fit Sport, and is an adapter needed? This one? Apparently it's a 14mm 1.5 thread.
4. What is the torque tightening recommendation for this thing? Just the same foot lbs pressure for the regular drain bolt?
5. Should I use the Fumoto washer or a regular aluminum crush washer?
6. Have you all ever had any instances when you were driving and a rock, or something, hit the lever to open to valve, and oil came spraying out? =o
7. Why is the Fumoto valve not standard on every vehicle? o_O

Thanks.

Almost all your questions can probably be answered on the Fumoto company website.
As far as them opening, it's sort of a two-step process so it's really, really unlikely that anything other than a human could cause it to open. You just have to orient it so it doesn't stick down.

It's not standard because car companies aren't going to spend money to make changing the oil a tiny bit easier.

Sounds cool in concept but I'm getting 10k between oil changes and this may save me 2 minutes each oil change? To me not worth it but have fun.

That was my thought. It does also save you from getting oil all over your fingers.

BeardedGTI, I read how you used the MaxLife ATF for your Honda. Is this the stuff (Amazon affiliate link) and have you had any problems since using it? I ask because it's not OEM Honda DW-1 ATF.

Also, why was this thread moved to the 3rd generation? Isn't the 2012 Fit Sport 2nd gen.?

Yup. Easy to spot on the shelf because it's the only ATF valvoline makes that comes in a red bottle. I use it because it exceeds all requirements that Honda has, is way easier to source locally, and costs half the price of DW-1. The gallon size is enough for a drain and fill. 2 gallons is enough for drain and fill + purge of the torque converter and still have a bit left over. Shift quality is noticeably improved and anecdotal reports suggest that it lasts a lot longer than DW-1.
