Honda Jazz 2015 chronic misfire
Honda Jazz 2015 chronic misfire
Hey guys,
I need help for my Honda Jazz 2015 which has been misfiring on & off for some time now.
No error codes. Have done the following:
replaced petrol filter, battery, spark plugs & coils, intake manifold cleaned (according to dealer), fuel injectors cleaned & I attempted an ECU reset (not sure if I’ve done this properly though, would love some advice, removed 15a #20 fuse for 10mins).
Starts well, idles well, drives under power well. Misfires under light throttle between 13-1800RPMs. 200,000kms full service history. Can’t get it to fault when I take it to Honda service.
Any ideas what could be going on? Would appreciate some advice. Thank you!

Welcome. This could be an early sign of injector failure. For the US market, all the 2015s and a few thousand early 2016s have a TSB issued. If the injector/rail assembly failed under warranty, replaced at no charge, but if the injectors fail after the warranty expired, you're on your own.
Search this subforum for details. Can't replace just one injector if it fails, you have to replace in quad-matched sets. In the US, typically a $2-3K repair.

Could just be the "normal stumble" many seem to suffer at a pretty specific rpm under light throttle. My '15 has always done it at about 2000rpm under light throttle, and I can notice it most in the lowest 3 gears...moderate to hard acceleration seems to blow right by it, light foot on the gas, it gently stumbles for a second. I usually don't drive with that light of a foot, and just take 1st and 2nd to about 4000rpm so that when I upshift, it hits the next gear above 2200 rpm or so and is above the stumbling. Engine software related? Dunno... This has been posted about before and folks have been told it's "normal" by dealers, but.....we know what their word is worth...

im a driving instructor & the kids drive erratically sometimes especially under 2000rpm, this could be my issue right here? It might not be a good instructor car. Time to get a new one anyways.
appreciate your help mate, cheers
