Oil Change km

Oil Change km
So I've owned my MT 2015 Fit since November now, and I am just below 10 000km's on my odometer. The oil reading on my dash still reads 40% for my oil life.
I plan on taking my Fit in tomorrow for the oil change.
The issue I am on the fence about is that THIS WILL BE MY FIRST OIL CHANGE.
So my question is:
When did everyone else take theirs in for their first oil change?
Does everyone else follow the oil life percentage?
I have also noticed my clutch squeaks everytime i press and release the peddle. Does this have anything to do with the oil?

(you are sure you did not accidentally reset it... )
according to my manual:
"Change the oil and filter in accordance with the Maintenance Minder message on the information display." "If a message SERVICE does not appear more than 12 months after the display is reset, change the engine oil every year." So for the initial oil change just follow the maintenance minder. Once the display has been *reset* THEN follow the maintenance minder/or every 12 months whichever comes first.

I have approx 5500 miles (8850 km) on my odo and my oil life is at 50%. I plan on changing the oil in accordance with the maintenance minder, so somewhere between 0% and 15%. And no, your oil has no affect on your clutch pedal. Motor oil doesn't even enter the transmission.

Read the manual and says that to best go as long as possible with the original oil that's in there. I'm no car engine guru but anyone know why? I understand that it's a special
Oil, but why is it best to leave it in the engine as long as possible? Ie to the 15% reminder
Also for those changing oil by themselves it says to always replace the Crush washer each time since it becomes compressed and not as effective after first change.

As I never get to 15% I have my dealer change it once a year. I also follow recommended changes of brake fluid and tranny fluid.

O m'en this is going to get ugly. I'm in Mexico and the owners manual and maintaining schedule is totally different from all of yours.
First in the manual says let the oil break in for 300km
Second here at least my version not sure if all do not have computer schedule. So we are advice by Honda dealer and the Honda manual to change the oil every 5km and the oil filter and oil every 10km.
BTW it also says only use 91 octane gas or upper .
I was planning to change my oil every 10km cuz there is way I can figure out the oil minder as you all have.
Any thoughts?

That is odd....my FIT is made in Mexico and not sure why there would be a difference with your's. Those are huge differences that you pointed out. It's almost as if Honda plant makes 2 different regional FITs. Not sure.
..did you ask your dealer for one?

exactly. it makes no sense how the whole world its 87 octane but in "his" Mexico its 91+. i call shenanigans!

ok i take it back. i apologize.
now why in the world would Honda Mexico require 91+ then? Did some googling and Mexico only has 87 and 91? Some random comments on the interwebz say that Mexican 87 is poor quality. could that be the reason?

Also it does not matter if you put let or more octane becuase it has a mechanism to stop the rattling. But why do you put synthetic oil and not a high quality motor. Also USA oil prices are a steal so why not so a little up in quality.
Also I don't know why mexican version with the same price as the USA it lacks a lot of parts that exported vehicles have. And they never to a real to mexican vehicles. Not sure if this apply to all Latin American vehicles sold by Honda.

UPDATE
I took my car into my local dealership on Saturday morning. The squeaky clutch was from the spring underneath the pedal. Living in Canada, and having all 4 seasons here, the snow and water sometimes washes the grease off. This causes the squeaking.
AS FOR THE OIL:
The mechanic said that with stock oil, the first change is around 13-15,000 kms(or 8000-9500 miles) depending on how much highway driving you do.
And with the 2015 Fit's once your oil reading gets down to 15%, it will notify you what maintenance package to get.
