Adding Homelink??
So at work, there has been a rash of car break-ins and the thieves only steal 2 things. Your garage door opener remote and your car registration with your home address. You can guess what happens next...
So I've hidden my car registration and don't leave my remote in the car, but I'd like to not have to worry about that.
But all this got me thinking... anyone have any ideas for adding a Homelink mirror or a Homelink+sunglass upper console (might not be possible with the models with sunroof).
Homelink would just be so convenient.

Auto Dimming Mirror homelink compass installed 2015 EX
First post to board. Auto mirror with compass and homelink, looked on craislist and found a installer who works out of home in stereo -alarms. Charged me $ 50.00. Took 40 minutes. Purchased on Ebay as open box item for 100 dollars. We love our fit and all of our cars have these mirrors. Auto stereo store wanted $ 375.00 installed. Even at that its well worth it. I live in Green Bay, WI.

So I got inventive yesterday.
I followed this guide and it worked. "Hard-wiring" a garage door remote into my vehicle
This was my end result.
Works perfectly. And only took about 25 minutes. I accidentally scratched the surface of the cover with my dremel but I'll order a new one and do it again. They are only like $.84 from Bernardi.

As a followup, I wasn't happy with the switch that I originally used (it was a cheap $3 one from radio shack. So I did a redo job today.
Red is the momentary garage door opener switch. Blue is a latching on/off switch that turns my LED interior ambient lights on/off. Looks pretty slick IMO.
