Broken Side View Mirror

I returned to my Fit, which was parked on a side street of a little town, and saw that the driver's side view mirror was out of adjustment. After adjusting it, I saw why. A passing car had hit it and knocked off the big, plastic piece that covers all the inner workings of the mirror.

I contacted Bernardi and got a part # and a price. The price was just a little higher than I had estimated. Take a guess. Answer below. Plus shipping, but at least it's silver. From now on, I'll fold both mirrors in when I leave it.

$110.79

It would be nice if we got the auto folding mirror option.

I had the electric folding mirror option on a Trooper.. Was awesome until it needed repair,, 900 bucks for a stone hit to fix it,, it ended up being replaced by a unit off junkyard find..

Yikes! I manually fold my mirrors in when I park on the street.

That's not bad. I thought you were going to report $500. I'd be willing to pay up to $1000 for mirrors that automatically tucked in and out.

I had guessed $100. It cost $250 to buy one mirror on a Honda Gold Wing motorcycle.

Always look for the cap, often it can be popped back on.

That's what surprised me. I went back and looked several times, covering the area on foot. Nothing! The total for the cap came to $127.28.

I had my mirror changed because of the same thing last year. I still have old mirror. Maybe I have the piece you need in one piece. show me on a pic what exactly do you need and I will look. I'm in Bloomfield NJ and not sure how far you are but if I have the part in one piece you can have it free. just come get it. I bought a whole new mirror so my original is in a box. Not all of the original is broken.

Thank you! I'll keep that in mind if it happens again. How much did the whole mirror cost? Left or right?

Driver side. After searching online by part # I found one for $161 at a dealer in Illinois. Passenger side (with camera) was close to 300 if I remember correctly.

When my LaneWatch camera wasn't working for 2 1/2 years, my dealer took a guess and replaced the camera. It didn't help. Replacing the audio unit solved the problem.

I received the black plastic collar that goes below the skull cap yesterday, and it included the entire black framework that goes behind the cap and also the metal mounting bracket.

That is very believable as here and there my radio had a brain fart and seems to automatically reboot itself. A few times this happened when I was using bluetooth to make a call. I wonder if there are any firmware updates that can be loaded at the dealer to totally eliminate this. This has not happened enough times for me to be concerned but I am absolutely sure it happened at least 3 times and one of those times I lost all touch control on the screen until I shut the engine off and then on to reset it. Not to really get off topic I am wondering who makes the radio for this car and part # so I can look up the specs.

You'll bring your car to the dealer, and he'll say, "It worked fine for us." : )

I'd be surprised if you were able to find out who makes the radio.
