USB music limitations? (solved)
Hey guys I'm wondering if anyone has found a fix for this. I've noticed that playing most music from a flash drive works fantastically, but especially long tracks (like podcasts or live-sets that are around an hour long) either just don't show up in the system, or if they are recognized, display unsupported file when you try to play them.
Note: all files are MP3's
I'm wondering if there's a file-size limit or some sort of DMCA that might be preventing playback. Thoughts?
Thanks!

Update: After extensive testing today, I've found that the fit's USB audio system tends to prefer 128kbps bitrate MP3s. Most podcasts these days are Mpeg-4 audio files, at 192kbps. The fit does NOT like these files.
I played around with settings in iTunes for hours today and found that creating copies of podcasts as MP3 audio, 128kpbs had a 100% success rate with the fit's audio system. The interesting thing is that I do have some 192kbps files on the same flash drive that do play, and it isn't a filesize limits, because I have some 4 hour long 128kbps tracks that play when 1 hour 192kbps tracks wont.
I hope this thread saves another Fitizen a major headache in the future. I am very happy that I figured this out as I've saved $300 from not having to buy an extraneous Ipod that will get stolen.

Thank you for the tips - I figured out how to get my 2019 Fit LX to play all 124 GB of music on my SanDisk 128 GB USB flash drive. My USB stick info: SanDisk small format FAT32 formatted drive with 21796 mp3 file structure songs in 673 total folders (main and sub folders) using the iTunes folder structure of music group | album | CD number | song folder structure. I started with 21796 songs and 2400+ total folders - Fit would only play the groups of A-I and would occasionally show a folder number over 700. I spent "quality time" over the Thanksgiving break reorganizing those folders to be music group | song folder structure with a few folders of my favorite groups still in the group | album | CD number | song folder structure. Now all folders and songs (128 to 320 bit rate up to 48000 frequency range) seem to play even though I have more songs than people have claimed will work. Enjoy!
