Quick question about engine braking/brake pad rubbing

Hey all, so I got my 2020 EX CVT last month and have been noticing that when I let go of the gas pedal around 35mph, it slows down to 5mph in about 1/2 of a city block's distance (maybe 11 seconds?) on flat streets. I'm wondering is this normal engine braking? Or is it possible that my brake pads are rubbing against the rotors? I don't have a jack to boost up the car to test the wheels by spinning them, and I don't really want to drive all the way back to the dealership to ask them about it. Is there any way I can test for brake pad rubbing without lifting the car?

use the jack that is included in your spare tyre kit

I would think that if your pads were rubbing to any serious level, it would cause serious heating of the brake system and you would notice fade when driving after a while.

Maybe there is no jack included in OP's car accessories.

An easy way to check if brake pads are rubbing is to drive highway for a while and then stop coasting i.e. without using the service brake. Step out and test by hand if any wheel is warmer than others or even hot. Be careful, if a pad is rubbing the wheel may be burning hot.
