Thought I'd start a little "build" thread for my black 2015 Fit Ex, 6 speed. I'll share all my experiences as I go along. I have an 87' Volkswagen Jetta which is my project..I have no intention of dumping money into this car. Keep up with maintenance and drive the piss out of it

I picked it up in June 2015.


Got married in September.

 

Caked my hubs in anti-seize. Painted my brake calipers..little extra protection against corrosion.


Installed 16" mini cooper steelies for this winter (running 195 runflats).


Offset is pretty nice..

Digging the winter look. Something about the white Bridgestone is working for me with the all black.

So I just sold my OEM 16" wheels.. looking for something different and most importantly LIGHTER than OEM for next year... any suggestions, let me know. I'd really like to go 17x7 or 16x7 and run summer tires for added confidence when cornering.

I haven't had a chance to post a pic yet but I picked up a set of 17x7.5 K1's a few weeks ago. Running 215's ultra high performance all-seasons! Running stock suspension, I rub at the front ever so slightly if I hit a bump at higher speeds. Rears are perfect. Pics to come.

 

 

Those K1's fit nicely without lowering.

 

with the holidays and getting back to work, i haven't had a chance to bring this up but after detailing my fit, i found two stone chips in the paint on the drivers door..and the chips reveal just how THIN the clear, and base coat is..i can't even see any primer on the door. to make matters worse, the corrosion already showing is remarkably stupid! wtf is honda doing? have they always done paintjobs this shitty?

anyway, here's some updated pics...nothing new going on here.

 

Been a while since my last post.. some changes to the Fit situation; I've had a major career change, got into the landscaping business and purchased my first truck ('16 Ram 2500, crew cab, CUMMINS!).

I hardly drive the Fit these days. Sold the K1's because I discovered another crack in the barrel of one wheel..and now looking into running OEM 17" mini cooper wheels (not sure which ones I want to try yet).

Does anyone have any photos of MC wheels on a GK5???
