Yo! Leased a 2018 Fit Sport a few weeks ago, and I'll document crap I do to it here. Who knows, maybe I'll be selling the parts in a few years.

I've been drifting about a decade, so I have a pretty decent understanding of car dynamics and what not. I hope my input will be useful to someone. For a bit more personal info and some pics of my other cars, you can check out my newbie thread here.

Here's the car bone stock, I'll try to separate updates into individual posts. So yeah, Be right back with the first one!

Wheels/Tires - 3/15/2018

I wasn't exactly trying to afford different wheels and tires this soon, but the $100 off ebay thing the other day caused me to blow some money.

These are Katana KR16 (Advan RG-D knockoff) in 17x7.5+40 wrapped in Hankook Optimo H426 in 205/45/17. Initial Impressions below.

I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the front fitment. They fill out the front fenders quite nicely and I haven't had any rubbing so far driving around town. The rears could use a little spacer to get them out to where the fronts are by comparison. I actually almost stole some spacers off my parts miata, but they were hub centric and didn't fit, lame. Oh well!

I forgot to check how much these things weigh, but they're not noticeably heavier than the stock wheels, according to my butt dyno. I have a 6MT and I can still easily spin the front tires in case I need to impress some grandma next to me at an intersection.

My intention was to stay very close to the circumference of the stock wheels and tires, since I'm leasing the car and don't want to get into fender work. Def nailed it in that department, I forgot to take a picture, but it's super close.

I live in Atlanta, so it's really common for me to have to go 80mph~ on the highway. I'm not absolutely satisfied with how the Fit feels at these speeds. I have to assume that the height of the car paired with its mechanical grip causes it to get pushed around by wind a little bit. This feeling is a bit nullified by having slightly wider tires, but it's still there. Of course this issue is pretty much entirely relieved by putting the windows down.

As far as the Hankooks go, there wasn't much thought put into this decision. I just asked a buddy to find me a decent set of tires in this size on ebay during the sale that was going on the other day. He said these are used on some OEMs, so yeah, whatever. I haven't fully put them to the test, but they feel fine enough for scooting around town. I hope they don't suck in rain, we'll see.

Overall, I'm super happy with this sizing on a stock car, looks good and with a bit of spacing in the rear it would be downright sexy.
