Towing with a fit
Towing with a fit
Hey y’all.
new here and trying to get some sage advice on towing with my 2019 fit.
im geared up with a 7 pin adapter for towing my teardrop camper(with brake and brake controller). Trying to figure out the best air shocks to buy(what will fit??). Any suggestions?

According to the US manual Your vehicle is not designed to tow a trailer. Attempting to do so can void your warranties
Now that is out of the way....
I'm not a big fan of towing with the CVT but according to the EUROPEAN manual you can tow:
Trailer with brakes 1,000 kg (2,205 lbs)
Trailer without brakes 450 kg (992 lbs)
The maximum permissible vertical load on the coupling device 95 kg (209 lbs) (tongue weight)
Also keep in mind the maximum load of the vehicle is 850lbs including tongue weight, people, luggage, accessories, etc.
If you don't drive a manual you may want to put a cvt cooler on it as discussed here

As far as air shocksthis guy the guy who posted above me(oops) did his 2015 then transferred them to his 2017 and I'm pretty sure that means they'll work on a 2019 (the 2017 and 2019 show the same part number for rear shock)(Correct me if I'm wrong everyone)
It does appear he slightly modified the ones he had though.

I've been towing a 1200 lb camper trailer with my 2007 and it can be a little scary at speed around corners and on windy days.
You also definitely want trailer brakes but I figured you would have them since you're talking about 7 pin connectors.
Also make sure your tongue weight is appropriate because when 1000 lbs starts swaying behind you in a fit there is a lot of pucker factor.
On a side note are you part of tnttt.com yet. If not you should be there are a lot of people towing with smaller vehicles that can give advice. There are also a lot of teardrops

Yes, check out my 2017 thread for more info on the MA809s. my videos are of the NLA MA811s. Still need to do the upper stem mod, and some fitment work on the lower eye, but they will fit fine with some small hub spacers due to the air fitting now being pointed towards the back of the rear tire walls. Another person on here did air bags in the coil springs and has great success with it.
