Best tires?

I need to replace all 4 tires soon. What's a good tire to use? I live in Florida so that gives you an example of the weather I drive in.

GENERAL Altimax RT43 H-rated . CONTINENTAL owns GENERAL . Another to consider is UNIROYAL Tiger Paw Touring A/S . UNIROYAL is owned by MICHELIN . It was released fall of '19 with a new tread design and more deep sipes for better grip in rain , etc. . Make sure it has A/S ( All Season ) .

I picked up a set of Michelin Pilot A/S3 in 205/50/16 size and I love them.
Discount Tire was selling them for 561 total with taxes and replacements certificates.

Don't look for the OEM size. Most people run a 205/50 R-16

As you've experienced, the OEM size is hard to find. 205/50 is close enough (within 1-2% of the circumference of the OEM size) and is much easier to find.

And that is safe? It doesn't mess up the car over time or anything?

How would it mess the car up over time? Or be unsafe?

I have the 15" stock rims and I use the stock size tires. They fit on my 2017 Honda Fit LX. You didn't mention what size tires you were looking for. Michelins is one of many tires that fit.

I don't know, that's why I asked. I've never heard of using tires that aren't meant to fit your car. Sounded like it could be unsafe.

I've been using 205/50/16 tires on my EX for over 50k and I am on my 2nd set. I haven't experienced any adverse issues and was still getting similar gas mileage. If you look at the online tire specs, the stock rim size is compatible with the tire.

I had general Altimax rt43 and now gmax as-05 with no rub.

General GMAX AS-05 205/50/16

I recently replaced my oem tires for Yokohama avid acend gt 205-50-16. Definitely a difference in less road noise, grip, and corning. No rubbing on stock height.

Going to get a second set of BF Goodrich Comp-2, the grip is fantastic and they've lasted longer than any other performance tires I've used in the past. Starting to lose traction now with something around 40k miles, but I don't like to brake more than absolutely needed for corners (provided there's nobody around, I don't want to put others in danger). And despite being a summer tire, they do very well in the rain.

Only downside is with the increased grip comes decreased fuel economy, by maybe 2mpg. I figure if it saves me from wrecking the car even once, it's worth it. And someone tried to merge into me on the freeway in the rain the same week I put them on, so mission accomplished.

Well it was hell to get Michellins or tiger oaws which I had on them. The size of the tires were hard to find without waiting. Someone offered me tiger paws and could get them installed the next day. I jumped at the chance but when i asked they would be installed tomorrow he checked and they would not come till two weeks. Ugh! . I did have them put on General Altimax RT 45. . $775.00. Canadian dollars.
