You might try shimming up the bump stop.

I have the exact same setup with Enkei RPF1 wheels. Same Conti tires. Offset is 43 I believe and I have experienced no rubbing so far.

I think it would only take a few mm to completely clear, so +43 or higher should work fine. Now if you regularly hit major whoopdedoos, you might still rub even at +45.

I did hit one of these so called "whoopdedoos" yesterday and yes, the front right tire rubbed. It was the first time this happened and it was a whoopdedoo!

What does it do when it actually rubs ? Does it feel really harsh or do you barely perceive it ? I'm asking this because I've never had a car that rubbed after wheel/tire modifications.

The selection of 16 X 7 in +45 is so much more limited than +40 or +42 though. I've found very few +50.

It sounds like the front end is being ripped out. The tires hit the inner liners and makes a hell of a sound. I am running on Swifts with a +40 offset. It happens more when hitting a dip and turning at the same time. I have one on ramp with a dip/crack running across. If I take it straight on I am OK but if turning and pushing it it will rub a bit. Now a few months ago I put a RSB on and find I am not getting as much rubbing. Very rare now.

Yea Summer wheels next week.

Are you running stock wheels and tires with the Swifts ? What's an RSB ? Thanks.

Black3sr, I gather your running 205/50R16's ? Does the rubbing bother you to the point where you regret your choice ? I like the lower appearance compared to stock. It looks just right, not too extreme.

I'm about to get 16X7 wheels also but I'm going to go with a 45 offset setup and 195/55R16 tires and no lowering for now. If everything is OK, I will probably lower it but not by much. Anything is better then the stock steel wheels and the very soft Firestone 185/60R15 I have now. It's a comfortable setup and that's all I can say. The space between the tires and the fender is unbelievable and unbelievably ugly.

Correct. That is what I am running. Nope I am quite happy with the ride. If you can find 45 offset you like then you should not have any problems. I picked up my set of used Generals one year old for $400. I do not drive much so will last me quite awhile.

Availability of 45 offset wheels in that size and bolt pattern is an issue. Somebody looking for 40 or 42 offset has so much more to choose from. It's really like a 10:1 ratio. Anyway thanks for the info. When I finally choose I'll report with my impressions.

Stembridge, can you give us a long term update on the DWS' s? I'm considering using them on stock rims and wanted to know how there working out for you..I'm especially looking for how well they have performed in the rain and if they were still quiet when they wear down. Thank you for your insight!
