Warn Out Your Tires, Yet?
Have any of you warn out the tires on your 12015 Fit, yet? I'm wondering how long they'll last. Typically, tires on a new car aren't the best, so it will be interesting to see. I have only 13k miles on my car, with 7/32" left on the tires.
After rotating them, the TPMS light came on, as it says it will in the Owner's Manual. Now I'll have to read the manual - again - and try to turn it off.

My tires wore faster than that due to an "out of spec" rear axle which had to be replaced under warranty. As it is, I project I'll get maybe 25,000 miles out of my OEM tires (I won't run them below 3/32). Three of mine were at 6/32 and one at 4-5/32 at 13,000 miles.
Based on my experience with OEM tires on two Fits, I have to believe that the people who claim to get 50-60K on the OEM tires are either:
A- Lying. Or:
B- Running them until the cord starts to show, or:
C- Driving on pillows instead of pavement.

I'm at 21K and expect to get 25-28K before replacement. About typical for OEM tires in my experience. Mostly highway driving but regular windy mountain roads at speeds in the upper 40s to low 60s so I suspect those trips took off a bit of extra tread....

I only put about 500 miles on my OEM Bridgestones before installing aftermarket wheels and tires. I ran snow tires last winter, so that saved some miles, and my Continental summer tires probably have around 28K on them so far. The rears show some misalignment wear (not bad), and I may look into shimming at some point. If it ever starts snowing in earnest here in the Middle West this Winter, I'll put my snows back on, and will expect to be needing new summer tires by the end of this summer (2016).
I, too, have never had much luck with factory-fit tires. In fact, I'm about to order a set for our '12 Routan as they're worn far enough to really not be safe in snow and ice.

The purpose of OEM tires is to keep the rims off the ground until the car is sold. Other than that manufacturers spec the cheapest they can get away with and the tire manufacturers have no motivation to sell them a long-wearing product. Firestone, as we know, tends to cut it finer than most manufacturers.
I've been lucky to get 30K out of a set of OEM tires on any car, and that is with relatively conservative suburban driving.
One might be able to get 40K out of a set of OEM tires, but you can only drive moderate speeds on the highway and avoid anything that resembles a turn.

all depends on use. Harry houdini got over 60k out of his, whereas i got 20k.

Actually I did. I had ~12K miles on the original tires. And I did 1 rotation middle of the year. The front condition was pretty bad (mine was firestron 755? can't remember the details). Was expecting longer but my wife ran on nails and one is completely messed up.
Anyway got the bridgestone ones from costco and so far am pretty satisfied with those.
