Anyone happen to know the weight of the gloss black wheels that come on the Sport? I’m debating between a wheel with light weight but lower offset and a not-so-light wheel with pretty close offset -
Konig Backbone 16x7 et40 @ 15.2lbs
vs.
Enkei EDR9 Black 16x7 et45 @ 18.6lbs
Im leaning towards the Enkeis because that extra few mm will help insure no rub, no problem with a 205/50/16 tire. Plus they’re Enkei, not JDM but still... Nice wheel, very modern, good match imho.
I love the Backbone though, and a 15lb wheel for $100 is almost too good to be true. I had a set of Heliums, and they’re good quality wheels, despite the low price. At +40 offset, with a 205/50 I’m pushing it as far as rub... But I’m pretty sure a -1.5 camber up front will take car of it. (1” drop on Swift springs btw)
If the Sport wheel is like 20lbs (which I suspect it is) then either choice is fine... How does that help me decide? Idk. But I’d like to know!
The OEM wheel will be heavy, but more robust for street driving.Depending if you live in an area with lots of pot holes that might be a concern?
I have a set of Maxxim wheels for daily driving that I believe are 16X7 40mm offset and don't have any rub issue? I also have a set of Tire Rack house brand or TR wheels that are 16X7 42mm offset for racing and don't have any rub issues. The Maxxim have 205/50R16 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's and the TR have 205/50R16 Bridgestone RE-71R.
Personally, I'd buy whatever wheel you like. If you found the wheels on Tire Rack or Discount Tire Direct and they say they will fit then you shouldn't have an issue. They use sophisticated CMM to measure and check fitment.
BTW: Light weight and street use don't usually go together very well. At least not for me. I like the looks of OZ wheels. I have had three sets of OZ wheels that have cracked or bent from street use.
that same website that USDM linked says my lx oem steels weigh 19.11 lbs, and I'm inclined to say, thats pretty accurate. I wish I could have weighed just the wheel. When I weighed the lx steelies + tires, my bathroom scale said about 35lbs
per amazon, accelera eco plush 185 60 15 weigh 17 lbs, add that to 19.11 lbs and those add up accordingly
if you go 15s or 17s, it opens up your options to plenty of other konigs that are light weight/flow formed
Those would look great, but at 8” wide and 35 offset, they’d poke 43mm! That’s well into fender rolling country, not for me. I have started to look at some 15 and 17” options though... definitely some cool stuff in 15”. *17x7.5 has some very cool options, but I don’t see how I could make that work without some sacrifices. I’m looking to stay pretty conservative, rub-free, and fenders intact.*Idk if I dig the 17” on low-pro tires though, especially living in New*England

The 16" GE sport wheel was weighed at 17.5 lbs. I would suspect that the 16" GK wheel is within one pound +/- of the GE wheel.
Stock 15" GD wheel is reported to be about 16.5 lbs.
There are a LOT of aftermarket wheels that are heavier than the OEM's. Makes picking wheels harder.
I know, I’m not sure if those numbers can be actual weight. 20+ lbs seems awful heavy for a 16x6... but they do look like heavy wheels! If those numbers are correct, that’s great news because almost anything is lighter. And if I go with a 15lb wheel, I’m dropping quite a bit of wheel weight. I don’t mind even if I just keep it the same or a bit under- I’m just not looking to add any weight at all.
I was just about ready to order the black Enkei EDR9, which tirerack says is 18.6 lbs, but Summit racing says is 20.6lbs (although Summit gave me some “shipping weight is xlbs minus a couple for the box,yada yada” which ain’t exactly science). I could just live with 18.6 lbs, but I couldn’t go over 20, that threw me off.
Konig Backbone at 15lbs is looking pretty good at this point. It’s also just about September, so not much of wheel season left in my neck of the woods... Maybe just save my pennies until spring and live with the stock wheels. The wheel search is doing my head in. You guys are a bad influence, you gave me feverus modificationitis.

Thats great news! Also pretty damn weird that Honda would put those lead filled wheels on a Fit! Wtf? Well, that means that even the somewhat weighty EDR9 is a decent improvement. That’s me decided, EDR9 it is. I think they have a tech-y futuristic look that complements the Fit. And it’s one of those wheels that looks better in person, you can see the funky little details and angles. The silver show off the details better, but I gotta have black wheels on a dark gray car.
I just received my winter setup for my 2018 Sport. Konig Helium, 15 x 6.5, +40, with General Altimax Arctic 12, 185/65-15. Rims are listed at 11.4 lbs, tires are listed at 18 lbs (same as the stock tires). The shipping weight of each combo was 30lbs, haven't had a chance to verify.
I'm having a hard time believing the factory 16" is 24 lbs, but not hard enough to pull one off and weigh. It's been 90+ every day here in CT lately so gonna be a little while before I switch over, but I will weigh them for sure when I do..
